Welcome to the DaVinci Academy of Arts and Science High School page!

The Board of Directors at DaVinci Academy has approved moving forward with adding high school beginning in the 2012-2013 school year.  We will be opening with a ninth grade class  and adding a grade level each subsequent year until we have a full 9-12 grade high school program in the 2016 school year.

The high school programming will continue based on the foundational beliefs of DaVinci Academy of Arts and Science which includes rigorous, relevant curriculum, a focus on the sciences and the arts, and a high expectation for citizenship and personal growth.

Thanks to an intimate, small school setting, we will continue to be able to offer highly individualized learning experiences for your children and build healthy long-term relationships between the instructors and the students that will benefit both instruction and learning.

The ninth grade core curriculum has been tentatively selected and summarily aligned with the most current standards set forth by the State of Minnesota, but that is just the beginning.  The course work expected in the high school program goes above and beyond the minimum standards and holds true to the school’s mission to “provide a strong foundation for higher learning” regardless of the path students choose to pursue after high school.  The curricula for the math and language arts programs are pre-AP courses approved by the College Board and are a direct continuation from the pre-AP (Advanced Placement) coursework our students are experiencing in middle school.  The core subjects of science and social studies will also reflect high rigor and relevance. The current discussed increase in graduation requirements at DaVinci Academy to complete four credits each in five core subjects (English, Math, Social Studies, Science, Arts) will only enhance the well-rounded outcomes for our young scholars.

As we move forward, it is the intention of DaVinci Academy to offer true AP  level courses and testing as a part of a well-rounded education that honors the sciences and the arts as vital components of whole-student learning.  We believe that successfully completing the process of graduation at DaVinci Academy will prepare students with one of the finest possible high school educations available and will engrain the behaviors and tools necessary for student success in post-secondary education and for the life- long adventure in learning.
